COVID-19 Insurance and Business Support Information

Coronavirus (Covid19) Information Primo plc

We have set up this page to provide information and support for clients and individuals looking for resources to aid during the Coronavirus Pandemic. From what our insurance providers are doing to support our clients to third party news, information and links.

Leisure Insurance Actions Speak Louder
Than Words

While words of encouragement have their place, being reminded that the situation we find ourselves in is difficult or unprecedented doesn't help you pay the bills or protect your livelihoods. What we all need right now is action, not words and no more so in the leisure industry, which has been one of the hardest hit in the UK.

So, with that said, what action is our leading insurance provider doing for you? They will provide 12 additional weeks (total insurance period of 15 months) free of charge, while you are unable to operate. Please note that All Risks cover will be restricted to Fire, Lightning, Aircraft and Explosion during the 12 additional weeks and is applicable for policies incepting on or after 6th March 2020 until further notice.

Business Support Information

If my business is currently not operating, do I still need to renew my insurance cover?

Insurance is still essential for businesses even if you're unable to operate at present. Your policy will always be protecting you and your business, your stock, equipment, premises, legal costs and cyber attacks. There is also the legal requirements for employers' liability and commercial vehicle cover. While premises are unoccupied, there are even more risks from vandalism and theft. Insurance cover is crucial even while we are in lockdown due to the impact of COVID-19.

Genuine claims are still being handle as usual, but, of course, there may be short delays. The government has offered support to businesses, but the help has been slow in coming, which is little help for a company that requires immediate assistance with funds now. The FCA understands this too, and there have been reports of them stepping up and speaking to insurers to try and get the wheels moving a little faster.

I originally meant for this to be an article on what our providers and we are doing to help you. Then it dawned on me that I could make this page all about finding the help and assistance you need, links to find information and news stories that may affect businesses like yours. You'll find everything you need here on this page. We shall keep the page updated as best as possible.
