Privacy Notice

In December 2022 Primo were acquired by A-Plan, a business that has also joined with Howden and grown to be one of the UK’s largest independent insurance brokers. As a result of our acquisition, our Privacy Notice mirrors that of A-Plan Holdings and below is the detailed information appearing on the Howden website that relates to all Primo clients.

What is a Privacy Policy and Why Do We Have One?

What is a Privacy Policy?

A privacy policy is a statement or legal document that explains how a website or organisation collects, uses, stores, and protects the personal information of its users. Personal information can include data such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, and any other information that can be used to identify an individual.

Why Do We Have a Privacy Policy on Our Website?

Legal Compliance

Many countries have laws and regulations that require websites to have a privacy policy if they collect personal information. For example, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union mandates that organisations inform users about how their data is being used.

A privacy policy helps build trust with users by being transparent about how their data is handled. It informs users about what data is collected, how it is used, and whether it is shared with third parties.

User Rights

It informs users of their rights regarding their personal information, such as the right to access their data, request corrections, or ask for their data to be deleted.

Data Protection

A privacy policy outlines the measures taken to protect users' data from unauthorised access or breaches. This reassures users that their information is safe.

Company Integrity

Having a privacy policy shows that Primo respects user privacy and is committed to protecting personal data. This can enhance the company's reputation and build customer loyalty.

In Simple Terms

A privacy policy is like a promise to Primo's website visitors. It tells them what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and how they can control their own data. It's important because it helps users trust our website and ensures we are following the law.
